Bison Head Butting, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
The bison (Bison bison) in Yellowstone are the last of the remaining wild bison herds in North America. Once numbering 30-60 million in the United States, bison were hunted almost to extinction (less than 50 remained in Yellowstone by the end of the 19th century). Due to conservation efforts, there are currently 3,800 bison that live in Yellowstone today. These young bison were frisky one brisk morning, butting heads and jumping on each other.
