Chipmunk, Zion National Park, Utah

Chipmunks (Eutamias spp.) are small, fury mammals found throughout the United States. Chipmunks can be distinguished by the broad, black stripes on their back. Western chipmunks do not hibernate in the winter, utilizing the seeds, nuts, fruits, and other plants they have stockpiled during the year.
