Sea Lion Smile, Elkhorn Slough, California
One of five species of sea lions, these California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) enjoy resting on the dock at the mouth of the Elkhorn Slough. No matter how much space the dock has, the sea lions pile on top of each other and frequently vocalize through barking. This sea lion looks like he is smiling for the camera.
