Sequoia in Winter, Sequoia National Park, California
Giant Sequoia trees are the oldest and largest trees on Earth. Giant Sequoia trees can live up to 3,000 years old and grow to over 300 feet tall. Giant Sequoias only grow naturally on the western side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. This scene of a Sequoia tree with its distinctive reddish-brown bark and evergreen trees blanketed by snow was photographed just after a snowstorm passed, while snowshoeing along the Trail of Sequoias in the Giant Forest.
