Glacier Point, Yosemite National Park, California
The dramatic clouds behind Half Dome light up at sunset from Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park. Glacier Point is one of the most famous views in Yosemite, as it provides panoramic vistas of Yosemite Valley, 3,214 feet below Glacier Point. Prominent geological features visible in this panorama are North Dome, Basket Dome, Mt. Watkins, Clouds Rest, Half Dome, and the Yosemite high country. This dramatic sunset light occurred when the sun broke through the clouds in the last moments of sunset, lighting up the clouds in beautiful hues of pink and purple.
