Zabriskie Point, Death Valley National Park, California
Zabriskie Point is one of the most popular views in Death Valley National Park. From Zabriskie Point, one is surrounded by colorful badlands, and one can see the Red Cathedral, the Manly Beacon, Badwater Basin, Gower Gulch, and the Panamint Mountain Range. Zabriskie Point is popular as both a sunrise and sunset location. Death Valley is known as a land of extremes: the hottest temperature (134 degrees F) was recorded here, it is one of the driest places on Earth, and it has the lowest point in North America (-282 below sea level).
